Lanes — Privacy Policy

In short: Lanes is a running-coaching app for races from 5K to the marathon. We use your Apple Health and training data only to build and adapt your plan and coach you. We don't sell your data, don't use it for advertising, and don't share it with anyone except the service providers needed to run the app. Lanes uses no AI service. Your data is stored in the EU, and you can export or delete it at any time from the app.

1. Who we are

This app ("Lanes", "we", "us") is provided by GVIX Labs SRL, a company incorporated in Romania, European Union, which is the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

We do not collect payment information (the app is free). We use a privacy-first analytics service (TelemetryDeck) to collect anonymous usage statistics — such as which features are used, app version, and device type — to understand how Lanes is used and improve it. This data contains no personal information and no identifiers, is never used for advertising, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

3. How and why we use your data

To provide the service — build your adaptive training plan, prescribe paces, detect and analyse your runs, adapt your plan week to week, and show your stats and race prediction.
To personalise coaching — your recovery signals (HRV, resting heart rate) inform your daily coaching brief, which the app writes on your iPhone.
To give your runs context — the weather during a run explains, for example, a slower pace or a higher heart rate on a hot day.
To maintain your account — authentication and resuming your plan across devices.

Legal basis (GDPR): performance of our contract with you (providing the coaching service), and your explicit consent for access to Apple Health data (which you can withdraw at any time in iOS Settings → Health).

4. Apple Health (HealthKit)

Lanes reads health and fitness data from Apple Health only after you grant permission. In line with Apple's requirements:

We use Health data solely to provide and improve the coaching features described above.
We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell it or share it with data brokers.
Health data is not shared with third parties except the service providers in Section 6, strictly to operate the app.

5. Coaching without AI

Lanes does not use any artificial-intelligence service. Your training plan is computed by our own engine, on our servers in the EU, and your daily coaching message is written by the app itself, on your iPhone, from your own data. None of your data is sent to an AI provider.

6. Who we share data with

We share data only with the processors required to run Lanes:

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for advertising.

7. Where your data is stored & international transfers

Your account and training data are stored in the European Union (Ireland), and we do not transfer them outside the EU. The weather lookup for a run goes from your iPhone directly to Apple's WeatherKit and contains only a location and a time — never your name, email, or any identifier.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account), your personal data and training history are permanently erased.

9. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, delete, and restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent. Lanes lets you exercise the main rights directly in the app:

Export your data — Profile → Export my data (a CSV download).
Delete your account and all data — Profile → Delete account.
Withdraw Health access — iOS Settings → Health → Lanes.

For any other request, contact contact@gvix.xyz. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and stored with our hosting provider using industry-standard protections. Access to personal data is limited to what is necessary to operate the service.

11. Children

Lanes is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notified in the app.
